Buy them Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein that they will outgrow in 3 months.

I think that “Oillily” was the benchmark brand at the time.

When we lived in the high desert, I rolled down my cuffs and had a nice pile of sand by my bed every night. Just kick the scorpions back out the door.

My middle son, who must have been in middle school at the time, once explained to me (quite seriously) that if you wore American Eagle you were cool, but if you wore Old navy you were a nerd. Couldn’t convince him that the only difference was the ad on the front.

My dad always said that a kid on a diving board, could care less, if he had a dollar or a dime to his name.

Little boys, especially, don’t give a damn about where their clothes came from, what label is on them, or how much they cost.

Whether it’s Calvin Klein Kids or WalMart, they are gonna get ’em just as dirty and outgrow them just a fast.

As a kid, I was embarrassed to death of my dorky looking Penny’s jeans.

Had a coworker who did the garage sale thing. Bought barely worn Oshkosh outfits, originally $40-$60, for two bucks. His kid did not care.

Its the little nasties, as much as the big crimes, that detract from the quality of life.

Take a look at how little kids dress in equatorial Africa. Almost no clothes at all. Then extrapolate global warming to see what America will look like about 40-50 years from now.

Only a troll with a one-track mind and a narrow world view would turn a comment section on parenting into a nonsensical diatribe on climate change.

    Zeesh !

I always ignored the “dress code” and I grow up happy and without social problem : poor are whom is slave of the fashion even if he/she spent a lot of money for clothes
