When I say: “undeniably,” I mean that I can’t deny it. I had hoped that would have been understood. There is plenty of denial to go around for those who haven’t been party to an experience.
.
This is also not to say that everyone who gets prayed for gets healed. I don’t know the answer to that, but those who honestly seek an answer may find it in Luke 4: 24-27.
.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and mention something that came to me recently when a prayer was answered- maybe it’s not the power of prayer that is active in the healing…it’s the power of Love.
I would also like to share some other options that seem to have worked for others in defeating cancer- and please don’t start a firestorm over “alternative” medicine. If you sincerely want to check out some success stories, search out some of these:
.
Rene Cassie and the story of Essiac and the many hopeless cases she cured.
The book: “World Without Cancer” by G. Edward Griffin, the story of vitamin B17.
Always a pleasure to see Mole. Tracy had a hand in his reformation. Here is where I would post a panel of Tracy bringing Mole Christmas presents in jail (1941). Alas…
The close of Selfy’s story was fast but effective. He was so busy getting a snap of himself with an unconscious Tracy that he failed to see the Cape Buffalo’s charge. Death by narcissism. Selfy left the stage in a body bag. He was nothing to look at after all: so ugly. We learned Saturday that House Bill 6947 was dropped. Bellowthon was the force behind the attempt to make intolerance law. Her murder killed the chance to codify xenophobia…for now. Finally, Tracy was informed that Posie is out on parole and harassing Mysta. Nice wrap up.
Throughout his time in the strip, Sam has been depicted as a smoker. When Joe Staton became artist, he often showed Sam smoking, but hasn’t for the past several months.
.
What if Marge got cancer from all the secondhand smoke she received from being married to Sam?
.
That would explain why Sam has quit smoking.
.
As I understand it, smoking causes cancer in 1 out of 3 people. What if Sam is one of the 2 out of 3 people who don’t get cancer from smoking, while his wife is one of the 1 out of 3 people who do. Sam wouldn’t just feel grief and anxiety, but guilt as well.

Good thing I’m not hung up on sports or I would hemorrhage when a Denver team takes a bath.
That’s about the only thing us Kentuckians will agree on — at least us eastern folks. :) Every winter, when it’s cold outside, we put on a fire, pop corn, and watch UK basketball :)

Well, Night; one early name for Kentucky was “Kantuck” but the exact etymology isn’t fully known. How I got it was known. My spiritual grandmother; a tradition full blooded Cherokee gave me the name early on. She wasn’t really my /blood/ grandmother, just a very old family friend, a close friend to my uncle a full blooded Brule Lakota Sioux.
(giggle) Gweedo wrote it best :) Thank you, honey.
….“Is something wrong?” “I’m afraid so, Mole……they’ve just revoked your parole…..oh, hey, can you kick me back a tree before I put these cuffs on you?”
Good to see Mole again! Reformed, family man Mole is a favorite character. But I think his “look” has changed slightly in the direction of more nearly-believable realism. No big deal.
The urgent matter is what lies behind Tracy’s “I’m afraid so, Mole” in panel 3. He didn’t come just to buy a Christmas tree from Mole or to exchange seasonal pleasantries. It’s time for friends and family to mobilize on behalf of Margie and Sam and against cancer! This year’s coincidence of Christmas Eve and Hanukkah gives Hope for a good outcome!

Always glad to see Mole make an appearance.
The supporting cast is one of this strip’s greatest strengths.

btw, did anyone ELSE realize that the whole bellowthon story was given yet another “Sweatbox Ending” as well?
If you don’t have the time to let a story run it’s full course, just don’t run it at all

It’s always good to check everything. When it comes to cancer, you never have enough info, or friends.
