Arlo obviously doesn’t live in Ohio. Even if the entire state had a power failure, we still wouldn’t be able to see the stars. Basically, we have cloud cover from early November to mid-March.
Not 4 o’clock and it is dark! we would say here. And in the old land the 4 would be replaced by a 3. And so I think your fellow countrymen (and -women) in Alaska would say too.
Flash, Here’s another version I remember from 35+ years ago. Starkle starkle little twink,Who the heck are you I think.I’m not under the alfuence of inkohol,But some thinkle peep I am.
We finally had some clear weather this year, so I went out in the dark of the morning to seen the Persiads. The Milky Way was so bright, I had trouble seeing constellations in it.
Lightning bugs were common when I was growing up in the Chicago suburbs. We moved to western Colorado when I was 14 and I don’t recall seeing them since …and that includes all the places I’ve been during and after my military service. Now that I think on it, it is a shame. Proof that Zeus does have a sense of humor.
Starkle starkle little twinkHow the tell i are you hinkI’m not under the alfulence of inkleholI’m not as phumk as some thinkle peepI amBut the dunker I stand here the longer I getSo starkle parlke little twink.
Starkle, starkle, little twink,Who the hell are you I think.I’m not under what you callThe alcofluence of incohol.I’m just a little slort of sheep,I’m not drunk like thinkle peep.I don’t know who is me yet,But the drunker I stand here the longer I get.So just give me one more fink to drill my cup,’Cause I got all day sober to Sunday up.

Starkle starkle little twink,
What the heck you are I think.

You look like a yellow pill.

The only way that happens is when all lights in the city go out.

Haven’t really seen the Milky Way since the early ’80s. Even then, only when a mass of clean arctic air makes its way this far south.

My first thought was that the lights in the neighbor’s second story bedroom window just came on. But, hey, that’s just me.

I need a clear day. These gray skies are just as bad as snow.

Light pollution doesn’t help either.

My favorite Burma Shave series was
Beneath this stone lies Tom O’Shay
He died defending his right of way
His right was clear
His will was strong
But he’s just as dead as if he’d been wrong.

They obviously live in an area with very little light pollution.

About as high as Arlo’s head what is that strip of olive green gong across the entire panel supposed to represent?
