I’m perplexed. There’s no question in the lyrics. So what is the question?

I suppose he’s asking why, though the song was released nearly 40 years ago, it’s still continually being played on the radio, which is somewhat in contradiction to the song’s title.

I get it now. it’s like when Don Henley sang:

saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac.A little voice inside my head said:“Don’t look back, you can never look back.”

    .

Now Don Henley is almost forgotten, while the Dead are still as popular as ever.

The song sucked then, it probably sounds just as good as elevator music.

“Don’t trust anyone over 30” was the mantra, and now the rockers are celebrating 50 years performing because they are in their 70s.

    On the other hand:

I can see, it took so long just to realize

I’m much too strong not to compromise

Now I see what I am is holding me down

    I’ll turn it around

I want to remember a song by Boston that tells me not to remember a song by Boston…

We need to resurrect that song to remind everybody of the other line, which seems so appropriate now:

“They’re beating plowshares into swordsFor this tired old man that we elected king.”

’There’s certainly a question in there!’ To which the follow-up is, “You remember that one! Just how old ARE you, anyway?”

I don’t remember much of the sixties, seventies, or possibly the eighties…I can hum the tunes…

I have “More Than a Feeling” tthat Caulfield won’t find “Peace of Mind” if he continues this. She might send him to the office to consult a “Higher Power”. Maybe he should just “Hitch a Ride” with Frazz and “Sail Away” to a better place. “It’s Easy”

The question is, “why do I keep hearing this song from so long ago about not looking back to the past?”

But they have considered this farce of a story you tell. Full of unbelievable hogwash.

Or, as Satchel Paige taught us — “Don’t look back, something may be gaining on you.”

I have More Than a Feeling that Caulfield is getting to go visit the principal again.
