Inside the home, the wiring tended to be tied in the same way usually done for copper wires by twisting wires together. They would work loose, reduce contact, yield hot spots, cause fires

I was told that aluminum worked fine with use of the right connectors.
(Which is similar to saying you wouldn’t make mistakes if you always did the right thing.)
