The problem with not working is you can’t stop and take a break.

Maybe not exhausting, but it can be tiring to sit and do nothing all day. (not that I really know anything about this)

Earl got out of bed and got dressed, that can be exhausting for some people.

I’m not exhausted until I sit around all day and gain 60 lbs, and then try to walk up a flight of stairs. :)

Opal should’ve tasked him with half of the household chores when he retired. Then he might have a reason to be tired.

How can people who hang out in bedroom slippers all day ever get tired??

Easy, if you work at home at a computer. I wear house shoes until warm weather, when I am barefooted. Between enough physical work to keep the muscles from atrophying and major brain work at the computer, fatigue is inevitable.
