Phoebe and Her Unicorn by Dana Simpson for January 02, 2017
Transcript:
Phoebe: Happy new year, Marigold. Happy years are all well and good, but they can be rather boring. My finest recent year was when a child hit me in the nose with a rock, resulting in our becoming best friends! Phoebe: Unhappy new year, then! Marigold: Thank you, and a rock in the face to you, too!

We said “Happy new year” every year, and last time it proved to be wrong. Now I hope “Unhappy new year” proves to be similarly wrong.

Would Marigold be un-happy if I called her “Mary” for short?

I wonder… will their second year together bring new magical creatures and new changes for their friends and um… friendly enemies? Should be a interesting time! :)

No matter what happens in 2017, as long as chocolate cookies are still made, not all things are lost.

Wish this would have been reprinted on New Year’s 2020. It would have fit so well.
