Then clear a space out with solid ground for the animal or teach it to use a litter box. Cats train themselves!

Watch out where the Gumbo go.

And don’t you eat the yellow snow.

We always shoveled out spaces for the dogs to go when the snow was too deep. And they were big dogs.

We have a dog who is part greyhound – long legs – but depending upon the depth of the snow, we shovel out a poopin’ place for him. We do have to clean up after him ASAP, because if the stuff freezes onto the snow, it’ll be there until spring.

Funny! I’m definitely on team puppy, but my son had a kitten that was very fun and playful. She loved to bat at and try to take her little dangling toys. I really enjoyed watching her jump from place to place and even have pictures and videos of her playing or cuddling at my feet. It was really sad when my son had to give her up.

When we lived in Upstate New York we had a big orange Tabby who would not use a sandbox. He insisted on going outside to a particular corner of the yard. In Winter, even when it was below zero, he wold literally snowplow, occasionally even tunnel, a path to HIS corner, do his duty, then RUN back to the door and stretch out in front of the wood stove.

I used to be entertained by our cat too. Get either catnip or one of those laser pointers, and cats can be a lot of fun. And it is a hassle sometimes to take my dog for walks and all that goes with it, but you do what you have to do. (Our cat died about 6 mos. ago, still have our dog though.)

My dog is 17 years old and will NOT “cop a squat” if the snow touches anything vital to the job at hand. She’s been that way her whole life… but then again, she will squat down and then lift one leg… she’s weird.
