I just finished reading yesterday’s comments. I’m not excited about the new gocomics site. I’ve looked at the beta site and did not like it. I’m worried it will be harder to find my comics and I’m worried that we won’t be able to revisit comics from back when there were pictures posted and we won’t be able to see those pictures anymore. And I just this minute accidentally found Bob’s FB page. I was looking at each picture individually up to now, but I clicked on one of the pictures to see if I could enlarge it and then I saw arrows going forward and backward. There I saw pictures going all the way back to October (I eventually stopped looking so I could look at more comics. I do have to go to bed pretty soon). And I saw comments from Marge and others and some of the pictures Marge posted. I did not have to sign up for FB to look at the pictures and comments. I want to go back another day when I have more time. I hope this new format we’re getting forced into will still allow us to do that.Anyway, hello Graham Crackers!
Talk about being cold (more from yesterday), it’s 2 below zero here in southern Wisconsin and the chill factor is minus 11. Our chill factor is expected to stay below zero for about another 48 hours, then it gets better on Monday. But here in my house, I have a bedroom downstairs which is on the north end of the house, with 3 exterior walls and no insulation in the walls. My dad had that bedroom added to the house back in the 1960’s and he did not believe in using insulation. He was convinced that dead air space is the best insulation. Well, there are no furnace vents going to that room. It used to rely on a gas wall heater, which broke down several years ago and I can’t afford to replace it. So 3 exterior walls plus no insulation equals a very cold room. I just checked the thermometer in there and it is 14 degrees in that room!. The room next to it (the kitchen) is 54 degrees. I’m trying to save up money to insulate that bedroom. I sleep in a bedroom upstairs that is heated by the furnace.
We are experiencing the 2nd of 3 or 4 atmospheric rivers to hit most of California. We desperately need the rain, but the big problem is that this is a warm storm that will melt much of the snowpack up to 10000 feet and cause widespread flooding and damage. 6 to 12 inches of rain on top of the snow are expected in the town of Mammoth and other populated areas. I don’t expect any damage at my home in the wide open Owens Valley but have friends who are very vulnerable further up the canyons.
To view the videos I post on my (Bob Wharton) timeline:
Just below the picture of my family and my name should be a menu line with Timeline, About, Friends, Photos, and More. I’s assuming this is visible to visitors. Click on “more” and you will see videos. This should do it. Otherwise, I noticed that my videos were appearing further down the page.
I have been getting friend requests on Facebook from people that I don’t recognize. If you are a Graham Cracker and have sent me a friend request let me know who you are otherwise I ignore such requests since I have been burned by trolls.
I found and posted four funny cat videos to the Bob Wharton timeline on Facebook for those of you able to see them. My apologies to those who suffer from Gocomics juvenile reaction throwing out the baby with the bath water. They could have come up with a way to allow picture posting but petulantly acted like the kids they undoubtly are and took the lazy route.
I’m posting eleven pictures to the Ten Cats Fan Club page on Facebook on this Caturday morning,
Today’s “aww” moment. Do you think that a) kitty is being supportive, b) there’s a trapped mouse in the corner, or c) the corner is kitty’s territory and he’s just protecting it because, you know, cats are territorial.
For those of you who have heard of Schrodinger’s theory that you never know if the cat in a box is alive until you open it (if I remember it correctly), well here the box is opened to reveal not one cat but TWO living cats.
When you combine two things cats like to do – lie in windows sunning themselves and lying on their backs with their hind legs spread, you get a flasher cat!
Since the sysops at Gocomics don’t seem to read or deem it necessary to reply to our emails, I wonder it they still read our comments. Do they know how unhappy we are? Do they know how much the comments are dwindling? Was this their intention? I don’t think my comments this morning will be read by them. Pity. My emails were never responded to. The beta site doesn’t meet our needs. I will miss the friends that are dropping out.
Here in west Tennessee, it was 10 this morning, got up to 20 from the sun, but dropped to 15 as soon as the sun went down (4:30). It is supposed to be high 60’s on Wednesday. In regards to change…I’m 70…don’t like change, hate that Go Comics is changing/has changed. I also still use Window 7, but know I am going to have to suck it up and get something with win 10 before too long. Yep, hate change.

Might as well get it over with, all your clothes will get cat hair on them sooner or later.

This aging kitty just realized that he no longer is the light (life) of the party.

Cats don’t want you to be cold when you sleep at night, so this is how they share your bed.

Wonder what this white kitty is planning to do with the deer if he succeeds in catching it?

I’m glad I’m over here in the UK, where it’s in the 40s, and not in Boston, where they’re expecting 10-12 inches of snow.

I am not looking forward to the change on GC. Too bad they couldn’t just leave well enough alone.

BTW…it appears that Annie is not aware of all the havoc caused by Chesney and Mr. Soames. The Flood is my favorite! LOL
