Finally got my this year, tired of shovels, and it snowed two nights later, heavy, after three years of drought and no snow!! So! Maybe this little island is going to get hit by that denier global cooling, and they’ll need that, sort of.
It was 43 degrees C on my verandah in Oz today. That’s 109.4 degrees for those still using Fahrenheit and, yes, it was a record, again. I can only dream of snow.
I guess my grief over my Dad’s death is waning. When coastal Massachusetts got all the snow last week, I was able to “joke” that I didn’t have to worry about my 85 year-old father having to deal with it any more. (I’m in VA.)
@LOVEABULLDESIGN and GARCOA: Yea, an engine and a flotation device along with wood that could be fashioned into a propeller and paddles for those quick sprints.
Hmm, everyone laughed when I had my long johns in ’Nam. Then it turned “cold” for a few days and I was glad I had ’em, think it got down to around 50 degrees F. And everyone else was “freezing”!
i LIVE on a tropic island in Thailand near the equator (6 degrees north), and don’t miss snow at all- that said, in the 7 1/2 yrs i’ve been here, the climate is DEFINITELY changing; for instance, this year’s “high season” (when usually we get almost no rain for 5-7 months except a sporadic misting of the coconut trees near sunset maybe once a week for 30 minutes), it has rained virtually every day, often torrentially (sp?), and it has been so cold at nights that at times i am shivering-but yeah, the imbecilic orange ape fascist der Furor and his “minions” (controllers?!?!?!?) maintain that the climate is NOT changing- i call BULLSH*T!!!Wiley, i LOVE you, you’re one of my FAVES!!!(i know you read & comment here, but i very seldom do!-but YOU ROCK!!!)

Barely been cold this winter in Houston. Frustrating. Did get some of that chilly weather today, but it was in the high 80’s yesterday!

It hasn’t snowed for about 5 weeks in Chicago. All we’re getting is rain & mid-40s.

A couple of days ago, Colorado Springs set a record for the warmest day in February…ever. Yeah, global warming is just a hoax started by the Chinese…

2nd year in a row that winter seems to be bypassing us. I enjoy the snow and what little we’ve had this year hasn’t hung around.

No tools and no fuel. A light boat would be better.

It’ll move sand as well as snow. Time to emulate the Dutch and start in on some levees.
