The Basilica of Our Lady of Immaculate Tears in Ponta Nossa, Italy, has a crocodile hanging from the ceiling- about 500 years old, it's the oldest piece of taxidermy in the world! The word denim comes from the name of the town where the fabric was originally produced- Nimes, France. China banned pigtails in 1911! They were seen as a symbol of feudalism.

I get it with the fabric: “de Nîmes.”

A visit to that basilica is definitely not on my bucket list. Whose idea was it to put a dead croc there anyway?

How is a 500-year old crocodile older “taxidermy” than, say, an Egyptian pharaoh?

I wonder what else is hanging from the ceiling of that basilica?

The Chinese pigtail was not a symbol of feudalism, but of subservience to the Manchurians of the Ching Dynasty (1644-1912). For what it is worth, the Manchurians were essentially akin to the Mongols rather than the Chinese, and strove to avoid being assimilated.

Heyyy:( Pigtails look good on my hottie girlfriend:) Then she takes off her wig and she looks frightful:( It’s all good though I tell her she’s still beautiful:) Chinese saying: Close eyes or turn out the light you can’t tell pretty woman from ugly woman:) Another Chinese saying: Nobody ugly at 2 a.m. :-)
