Zonker: Oh, no... what terrible news. No way I'm delivering that one! Man: Harris? Is that you? Zonker: That's right, professor. Your regular mailman is on vacation. So I'm filling in. I'm afraid I have some unpleasant news for you, professor. Your official notice of denial of tenure has finally arrived. Man: You opened my letter, Harris? Zonker: Just to make sure the right letter had been put in the right envelope, sir. It's sort of a courtesy I provide my customers. May I just add how sorry I am, professor. Yours may not have been one of the more popular courses on campus, but it certainly was the most discussed. Oh, by the way, you also got a rejection slip from "Harper's" noting a startling resemblance between your essay and one by E.B. White in "The New Yorker" in 1948. Man: I can explain that. Zonker: Now, on the bright side, your life-size inflatable doll arrived.
