Rip Haywire by Dan Thompson for February 14, 2017
Transcript:
Rip Haywire: I see you've embraced your sidekickiness and made yourself a disguise. TNT: At first I thought the cape was a bit much, but I'm lovin' it. I've come up with a sidekick catchphrase, too. Rip Haywire: Let's hear it. TNT: It's time to get ruff. Rip Haywire: Are you trying to make a mockery of the sacred institution of sidekicks? 'Cuz that line is a good start. TNT: Ok, ok, howzabout when you discover something, I say... "Fantastic, Bantam"!

If Rip’s the Bantam, what’s TNT’s sidekick name? Eggbert?

Holy slogans!
And, I like the way TNT’s costume is reminiscent of Robin’s.

Apparently TNT never watched “The Incredibles”. His loss.

Back in the mid 60s, there was a daily afternoon bit on one of our local radio stations in Cleveland spoofing Batman – it was called Chicken-Man and the tag line was “He’s everywhere”. Whenever Dan brings up this “Bantam” character, I’m reminded of that old spoof. I don’t know if it was syndicated or strictly a local bit.

Toady’s strip is Eggcellent.

I was also thinking about how much TNT’s costume looks like Robin. You know what that means of course—Bantam & Robin! (And I should have realized this before, but Bantam is an anagram of Batman.)
