Sigh…. I forgot….. they’re little kids, so they have to do their shopping at the neighborhood convenience store.
They’ll only get half or maybe 2/3 as much as I said yesterday.
Oh well… a bit less of a tummyache when they gobble it all at once.
Ladylagomorph… from yesterday (I always want to say “Lady Bunny”)…
yup… just like I picture Agnes.
I never spent money that way cos my parents were so strict….
but I do remember baby-sitting at 12, and being offered fresh cookies to eat after the baby was asleep. (I can’t imagine leaving a baby with a 12-year-old now!)
Being a polite child, I asked how many I could have…. and the mother, obviously new to the game, looked surprised, and said to eat as many as I wanted.
When I was a kid in the early 80’s, my best friend and I would have still needed a wagon if we had ever had twenty bucks to spend at our neighborhood convenience store that didn’t rip us off like that. Two to six glass pop bottles (whatever their redemption value was) always got us at least one treat for each of us.
