Snoopy’s list of things that a good secretary should know was exactly the core curriculum that the business school where I got my paralegal training required, along with typing, which I also had to take, and shorthand, which I wasn’t required to take (this was back in the days just before dictaphones rendered shorthand pretty much obsolete).
Wow. I’ve been a professional secretary for over 30 years and have not taken any of those courses. As a matter of fact, I started straight out of high school.

They should also know how to take dictation, including shorthand. Or in Woodstock’s case, shortwing.
