    Any recommendations as per the wine, David? Personally, I’d suggest Bosc pears because they don’t get as squishy as most (or so my orchard-owning uncles in Maine and Kinnaur say), but the wine is hard to pick…rose is standard, although I had some successes with port from Goa – particularly while it was still sweet, although my sister knew of a remarkably sweet white wine…
