“Most folks had forgotten about it” That’s BS, read back through the comments and you’ll find me and many others asking about the boat several times per year. You’re telling me that his life wasn’t busy when Gene was little and sailing was all he ever thought and day dreamed about?!? Come on Jimmy you can make up a better excuse than “life.”
I hope someone has been keeping up the maintenance on the boat all these years, even if it isn’t being used! Otherwise the point of no return will come all too soon (I’ve been more worried about that aspect of it – it would be a terrible waste, since Gene had already put a lot of work into it before A & J took possession). Also, there is no way I would be prying up and handling a splintery old deck board with all the old nails still in it, without wearing some good work gloves!

You have to choose to make boating – or whatever your hobby is – a part of your life, otherwise life does indeed happen to you.

Ha! I knew it!
I did a bit of searching…..
They bought the boat the end of June, in 2012….. wow, I didn’t realise it had been so long….
and there were a few strips about it afterward….
looking at boat supply catalogs and such…..
But I couldn’t find a return visit… hard to Google that.
So have we actually seen it….. or seen them go there… since that arc?
They visited the farm, maybe even Gus (not sure)…
but did the boat make an appearance?

As any yachtsman will tell you: boats are a hole in the water that you throw money into

The 2 best days for a boat owner. The day you buy the boat and then the day you sell the boat.

Having a hubby who is on boat #8, he says BOAT stands for Break Out Another Thousand. True words there.

Is that a cross between a seagull and a painted bunting?
