The North American use of the word entrée is something that caused me a lot of confusion when I first arrived to the USA, since in Spanish the entrada is the first course (or second in a five course meal).
After all both entrada and in French entrée mean entrance, so it does seem quite weird to use precisely that word for the main course.
Is the Chez Cher name another joke (translation : “At the Expensive”) or a real restaurant in the US? There’s another further joke for us French, if you use hissing pronunciation Chez is is fact c’est and it becomes C’est cher, “It is expensive”) :-)

And We sometimes call it the “main entree”. So as Not to be confused the the “lessor entree” or the “Final entree”
