My cat, Rusty, is the same. If I roll a ball, he just looks at me with a “Boy, you’re wierd” look and strolls away.

@DEBRA4LIFE: My cat will be fascinated by the red dot, for a second or four. Then she will climb up, give me an annoyed look, and push my pointer away.

My grandfather had no problem with foil, but he kept losing his used and wadded-up pipe cleaners. Fortunately, Yen was always at the ready to find them and bring them back. And leave them in the exact center of the top of the ottoman.

I play a sort of “fetch” game with one of my kitties using kibble. The only down side is she gets over enthusiastic and bats some of them under the washer, the refrigerator, the stove….

Foil, schmoil, my girl Sophie caught a mouse in the kitchen yesterday! Also delivered right to my feet. I admit to doing a girly thing by jumping up on the couch.

I do miss this. It’s been years since I kept company with a cat that would play fetch.

My sister has 3 cats that will play fetch with their cloth type balls, that’s the first time i ever knew a cat would do that. Mine liked to catch his treats but fetch, no way.

I’ve even known dogs who would get bored with playing fetch, although it takes a little longer.

Sebastian will play fetch, as long as it’s his “fetchy ball”. Every time he brings it back, it’s a little further away and then he’d loose it. It’ll be months between because he’ll either find it or I will.

Maybe if you put a piece of catnip in the foil. One of the cartoons over at Sherpa is getting ready to leave. Pal and Buddy. It’s been 6 months and still nothing happening for comments.

Mine won’t fetch but the former boy, Reboot, likes to carry small, stuffed animals around the house. One morning when I got up, he had arranged 6 of them in a row, sitting up the right way, and facing my door. I know it was him because he was sitting behind them with his “You didn’t let me sleep with you last night” face. I think it was a threat.

If you want it so bad, why do you keep throwing it away?

Yum Yum will occasionally bring one of her toys over to play fetch. When she gets bored, she “hides” the toy under the coffee table.

No,no “Fetch” is the game dog owners play. The game cats play is called “Throw”, where the clever cat induces its human to throw something so that the cat can have the pleasure of chasing it. This game will last until the cat is tired of it, which can be two to twelve Throws.

My white, semi long hared cat, Meow, loved to play fetch! In fact, more than my Lab mix did!

My cat Fido (that one, over there < < < ) loves to play fetch. His favorite item is one of those rubber/plastic wrist bands.

My last last 2, who are now in Kittie heaven, snowball would live to play fetch. My current 2, she lives to play fetch and will be the one to bring me a toy to throw. I stopped trying to figure them out and just go with the flow.

When I was young we had a cat that loved to fetch, her favourite item was a crumpled Cadbury Flake wrapper. None of the cats I’ve owned have been fetchers though

My friend had a cat that would fetch foil balls. When I cat-sat, I’d throw it and he would fetch but only bring it back halfway then stare at me. I told him if he wanted to play, he’d have to bring it all the way to me. He finally figured it out and brought it all the way to me. We’ve had just one cat who would fetch. Dead Molly (in her pre-dead state) would chase and bring back her little Molly babies. Those were the soft, sparkly balls she carried in her mouth while she made little throat noises.

Jingle Bell Katt used to like chasing soft foam ball that bounced. She would chase it around, bat it against the wall, and then carry it back toward me and drop it (though not quite at my feet) expecting me to throw it again. Eventually they wound up under furniture, behind the refrigerator and in other odd nooks and crannies. About the time I bought a BIG bag of these balls…she lost interest.

Gigi’s kibble training makes her an effective huntress, as she catches and dispatches the palmetto bugs in my house (it creeps me out that she can hear them).

Here’s an example, entitled “Wind It Up Again, Daddy!”
