Specific gravity of dry Lignum Vitae is 1.28 so it will not float. Wet mahogany will not float either I believe– or that may be some of the rosewoods.

Cocobolo, several of the tropical hardwoods, desert ironwood. Many species will absorb enough water to sink. Where did this come from, “Non Sequitur?”

When I first read “The Double Helix,” I was surprised that Watson and Crick not only admitted basically swiping data from anyone that wasn’t looking, but also to the animosity between them and Franklin, and their failure to attribute the sources of much of their data. I was also surprised when they were given the Nobel Prize, for what they admitted was a 50:50 guess after Pauling went the other way.

I’ve always been somewhat sad that I haven’t had as much time as I’d like to devote to watching ballet.
