Even though the Enjo kids and Lawrence Poirier are going to the same summer camp as the Patterson kids, we have no sign of the Enjo parents or Connie and Greg in today’s comic strip. I suspect it is because they like their kids and have decided not to join in the post-departure celebration and heel-clicking exercise.
The irony is that over the years many of these couples have forgotten how to interact with each other outside of their only remaining common interest…their children. For some this period at camp ends up a preview to what it will be like when their children leave the house permanently and they have to live with a stranger who they happen to be married to.
