Though Trump is indeed full of hot air, I believe his hairdo is more the result of epoxy than a blow dryer.

Donnie Dumpsterfire won’t let a little thing like the destruction of the environment stand in the way of his rich, TAX-FREE Buddies getting even richer! Thank goodness in 2018 the Democratic controlled Senate and House will be able to un-do MOST of his stupidity.

The President believes in coal jobs.

Green advocates he thinks are just snobs.

    But in the coal nation

    There is automation,

So he’d better prepare for large mobs!

Naw, this is great; we Conservatives will happily destroy the Earth if that will piss off a few Liberals. We win!

Nothing matters so long as you can continue to say valuable things like: " Ha Ha we won! You lost!" or “What’s the matter snowflake? Need a safe place?” and “Better Trump than a Marxist, Socialist, Muslim who hates America like Obozo.”

This is what the Republicans wanted, this is exactly why they voted for Trump. They hate ice burgs, polar bears, EPA and climate. They want smokestacks spewing smoke, pipes dumping waste into the rivers, and giant balls of plastic in the ocean. If you don’t like – get out and vote!

Stupid fools don’t understand that they have given other nations a weapon to destroy the US economy. When countries start refusing to import US products because the US policies are denounced as supporting the destruction of the environment, and smarter politicos in China and Europe realize the opportunities, look for more unemployment, more debt and the further demise of the US economy.

And oh please, don’t be whining about how the Chinese and Indians will be hypocrites. It won’t matter in the least because, they will be among the ones helping to support the view of the US as a big, dumb, bully getting its comeuppance. That plays very well in a lot of countries and will continue to do so in even more.

We will (rightly for the most part) be portrayed as greedy bastards looking for the short term profit. Just as we have portrayed others. But now Trump has helped make it official policy and the common folks here will pay the price. The rich will manage with off-shore holdings and those reduced taxes, so expect nothing from them.

Only need to have a nice non-fossil fuel source to make that work…

Too bad there are so many in the GOP who put party over country. I think a Republican would burn his own house down if he thought a liberal next door would die of smoke inhalation. This is too bad for everyone, not just liberals.

Back to addressing ignorance and maybe stupidity:

So some fool claims to know all about CO2 and spectral bands, etc., etc., ad nauseum.

However, measured evidence shows his argument to be complete and utter nonsense.

For a planet without an atmosphere, it is easy to calculate the temperature of the day side. In order of increasing distance from the sun,

    Mercury 437 degrees K

    Venus 232 degrees K

    Earth 255 degrees K

    Mars 209 degrees K

However, Venus, Earth and Mars have atmospheres.

    The Measured temps are

    Mercury 440 degrees K

    Venus 735 degrees K

    Earth 288 degrees K

    Mars 215 degrees K

Venus has a thick atmosphere, more than 95% CO2. Earth has a small fraction of CO2 and water vapor. Mars is also 96% CO2, but a very thin amount.

Bottom line for the clueless: CO2 leads to heat retention. Those are the actual facts, not some hot air.

Oh, and to make sure you get it, the surface temperature of the night side of Venus is very close to the day side temperature. Mercury (no atmosphere) drops down to about 200 deg K at night. Earth generally has mild variations except for regions of low humidity, but even then the temps do not approach the low temps of no atmosphere. Thank the CO2 for that.

Caveat to above, you can get lower temps than 255 K on earth, but that’s usually in winter when the nights are longer, so less heat reaches the surface. Mars has a similar inclination and rotation period, so it experiences similar effects, but over a 688 day (earth day) year.

^ Ah, yes; but only until we Conservatives destroy all scientific research in America. Then we can cheer the climbing pollution rates again, which will REALLY bug the Liberals.

Over 50 years of research and documentation of human impacts on climate, from regional impacts in Northern Europe, like England, and the expansion of the Sahara desert, fossil fuel burning, forest destruction, and overgrazing, hotter in Africa, colder in the UK with deadly coal smog. Laws changed, folks woke up, things started to improve, and now we’re working backwards on a global scale. Paris is a start, NOT total solution, but a start on saving the planet for our posterity. The problem is that profiteering “deniers” don’t give a rat’s patooty, about posterity, only profit NOW! Liberal or conservative is NOT the issue, science and intelligence versus ignorance and stupidity/greed are.
