Look out Chaz, that little stinker is coming round again. He’s small but he’s wiley.

My dogs are suckers for liverwurst. If I give them three pieces, and the pills are only in one, they gobble them up 1,2,3. They don’t have time to find the pills without losing the next piece!

Poncho is just making Chaz waste money on veterinary medicine.

So make the pills look and taste like kitty litter.

Freeze the pill in a glob of peanut butter. The dog will eat it or swallow it and can’t just lick it off. Works great, particularly if you have primed the dog with peanut butter cookies for snacks once in a while. Girl Scout cookies work great for that.

Poncho did that Valkyrie-like swan-dive move (last panel) before, when he was in the midst of taking the conductors wand for his stick collection. Burnt down the whole Performing Art Center. Tssk Tssk Poncho.

I never tried it, but supposedly you could crush the pills and mix it with soft dog food. Or any of the human foods safe for dogs to eat.

I have to melt the pill in warm water and suck it up in a syringe, stick it in the side of his mouth and press the plunger. No other way. I’ve tried them all. Yes the peanut butter thing is great but my little guy has an issue with “fat” and that means no more cheese or PB…so sad…aging sucks.
