I don’t want to go off on a rant here…but why is making food that originated in another culture a bad or “insensitive” thing? If you told me that people in France were eating hamburgers, I wouldn’t be offended. That’s how America became such a melting pot that welcomes all cultures! We eat food from all over the world! I know Wiley is taking this to the humorous extreme, but real “cultural appropriation” is when you take something from another culture and represent it as a stereotype of that culture, like “blackface”, “yellowface”, “ebonics”, clothing, costumes, etc.
Oh, well, I guess anybody can take anything to an extreme, but it would be hard to convince me that preparing and serving tacos or biryani or rouladen is culturally insensitive.
i was okay until you got to the ‘hot dish’as a minnesotan i would definitely be outraged if you made ‘hot dish’ for supper!!!!well at least if ‘some’ people were to make ‘hot dish’.others not so much. – just check out a potluck and you’ll know what i mean.

And thus proof that the US doesn’t have any local cuisine? By the way, what ancestry do they have, maybe some delicious haggis would go down well?
