Here we say our final farewells to two different characters:
1. First is the unnamed big blond kid with glasses that was Mike’s bunk mate. I had wondered if Lynn Johnston would drop a note about him, explaining how she was trying him out as a new character for the strip, or anything at all about him. Goodbye!
2. Michael as the poor man’s Dennis the Menace. Mike the prankster is gone forever. Goodbye!
We saw Martha came in on the same bus with these guys at the beginning of this camp story, so I am not sure why Mike wouldn’t just sit with her on the bus ride back.
When I was in college, one of my roommates had a very strong opinion of what made a person smart, and what made a person dumb. Anyone who shared his opinions or interests was smart, everyone who disagreed with him was stupid. At the beginning of the year it was his opinion that anyone who would throw away good money to keep a girlfriend was stupid, then he got a girlfriend and decided that anyone who didn’t spend money to keep his girlfriend happy was stupid.

I guess it’s time for that father/son talk when Mike gets home.
