This trip is not contributing to father-son bonding.

My vacation disaster was coming within 300 feet of a bear in the dark. My sister’s was sleeping at a B n B that was haunted.

Happened to us one week. Tropical storm with 7 days of 50mph winds and solid sheets of rain. But we stuck because, no matter the weather, Nags Head is THE BEACH!! and that’s a good enough reason to be there.

So a beach is okay no matter the weather conditions?

In my humble opinion working vacations are the dumbest… and yes I have experienced that kind of weather while camping.

Can’t he just swim through the rain?

As if drying off in that hard rain will make him any less wet.

Just me, or does Hobbes seem so much taller with a rain jacket on?

It will take a lot of time in the dryer for Hobbes to fluff up from what would have to be a waterlogged, soggy mess—raincoat notwithstanding.

From extensive experience I’ve found that a rain slicker doesn’t keep you dry. All it does is let your body heat warm the water in your clothes.

Hobbes in the rain slicker is one of THE best images ever in C&H.
