I prefer sixty Fahrenheit, not Celsius.

Some of those numbers are lethal to humans. Sure, she cited “heat index” and not temperatures for the last three, but still!

How much of a change is this? Temperature wise. Compared to what 20 years ago?

They obviously don’t have a finished basement. That’s where we would live, eWhen the temperature climbed above 85.

If they’re sweating anyway, certainly they can think of something better to do… especially under a ceiling fan on high.

Supposed to have a high of 98 today and I’m off work

All 3 window units are on high, and I should be home from morning walk about sunrise

Don’t think I’ll be leaving the house again until I leave for work tomorrow

Can’t we get back to moving or not? We all know it is hot.

I think the U.S. should institute knighthood, just so one can be bestowed upon Willis Carrier.

I was in Phoenix when it was 122. I walked to my car about 3:00 in the afternoon and when I turned the key the battery exploded. I don’t know why… it just did.

Reminds me of once when I mentioned to my father, living in NYC, that it had hit 110º in East Texas that day, and he asked if I knew how to read a thermometer.

A couple of things: A&J don’t live in the Middle East. Go into your air conditioned house already! Enough with the end of the world, gloom and doom arcs. A&J are great at entertaining us boomers; there are enough “the sky is falling” commenters out there to cover that particular story.

Houston is known for its humidity which can make its long summers feel over 100° F an in cars sitting in the sun even hotter.

In all of those locations Janis would be required to be covered in an abaya with a veil. So things could be even worse for her than how she’s describing it.
