My best friend’s sister and her family have been evacuated because of the wildfires around Williams Lake. We really need rain but I don’t think we’ll get any soon. Never seen it so bad so early in the season
My Cassie just gave me a terrible scare. I was outside with my cats and she started walking funny. She was holding her tail stiffly upright and then her legs went rigid and stiff and she couldn’t walk without falling over. I picked her up and held her and she was purring, but she was still holding her body rather stiffly. I was wondering if I needed to call the emergency vet. I started rounding up cats, bringing them all in the house (it was nearly time to come in anyway, since we only stay out until it starts getting too dark for me to read outside. Besides, the mosquitoes were starting to get bad). But within 5 minutes or less, Cassie was back to normal. I kept a close eye on her, but she was perfectly fine. She even climbed the tall cat tree when she got in the house. I remember she gave me a similar scare about a year ago, when she started yowling like she was in extreme pain. And she was acting weird then, too. That time I did call the vet and by the time I got her there, she was back to normal again. Could this be epilepsy? Was she having seizures both those times? I wonder if this is happening when I’m not around to see it. Does anyone know anything about epilepsy in cats? Cassie is young – only about 4 years old. She has kids who just recently turned 3.

Right, Chesney. If you had pounded your head against the tree, you could sue for brain damage. I am sure there are lawyers who would take your case.

Falling leaves could hurt you…if it’s still attached to a falling tree limb!

You might try googling it and/or ask your Vet. I wouldn’t mess with something like that, it sounds serious.
