My entire life I’ve been asked if I was part black. My family had a darkish complexion, my one brother has a full blown afro, and in the summer my mother got dark enough from the sun that she was frequently asked if she had a status card (aboriginal Canadian) for tax exempt purchases. Just took an ancestry dna test. I am 100% British Isles and northern Europe. No indication of any non white ancestry at all.
Whereas, people think I’m white simply because I look like this. Me with Seminole heritage (which included African and north American few European nationalities such as Welsh and Scot and German and we have no idea…).
