In Japan, they have coffee houses and each has a different “theme” – anywhere from traditional Japanese to C & W. What you do is go there and rent a table and they give you a free cup of coffee. It is for sitting and thinking or just conversing. The coffee is incidental. Or at least it was back in the 1980s.
I look at my phone twice a day to see if it needs charging. Other than that I use it for my grocery list and reminders. On occasion, I look up something on the net.
OH!! Look. . . there’s a guy walking into a fountain! And over there!! She walked on a ‘no walk’ crossing! Ouch!!. And that suit didn’t notice his briefcase walk off with another suit on a phone.

The gawkers are totally ignoring the ‘redundancy’ written on the window. Of course they probably make references to the “Rio Grande River”, as well.

A bigger shock would be if he was a home drinking coffee he had made himself. That would REALLY draws incredulous crowds!

Wow… that would be me… if I went into a coffee shop. Actually, I would probably bring a book to read, but no gadgets, don’t need ‘em, don’t want ’em.
But then the last time I went someplace just for coffee was a coffee bar in Napoli in the late 80’s.
