Be This Guy is right. Their thoroughness is nothing compared to Eric’s. And he apparently has pull like he is very close to the CEO. Maybe he IS the CEO.
You can check your credit report for free at each of the three firms that dominate the market, on an annual basis, at one and only one website. It is: https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp. I do not and have never worked for any of these companies. It is a good idea for everyone to take advantage of this tool. There is additional info and links on that web site to find other tools to protect your credit.
It’s crazy— 2 months ago I got denied an mastercard. When I inquired as to why, I was sent a letter stating that “the applicant is deceased”. It took me 2 days of phone calls to straighten that out.
Reminds me of when I was asked to teach the Performance Programming course (how to access some optimal instructions our computers had) my employer offered new customers. The guy who usually taught it had a conflict, or so I was told. When I returned from teaching the course in Dallas, I was told he had taken a job in Houston. My return flight into MSP quite possibly overflew him driving I-35 to Houston. Anyway, a couple weeks before, I had lent him a quarter for the vending machine. Bjorn, if you’re reading this, you still owe me a quarter.
Tater Tots were invented in 1953. That means that Rat is at most 64 years old. 8th grade in the US is 13-14 years old. That means Rat was in 8th grade no earlier than 1966. $0.60 in 1966 is the equivalent of $4.62 in 2017.
Repay the $4.62, Rat. That will raise your credit score to “Yeah, right”

Well, it is a bit more reasonable than their usual, “We screwed you because we can.”

Yes, they can NOT ding your report for using that website…
If checking your score doesn’t stem from a credit application they can no longer punish you for it.
The change was due to credit card fraud and identity theft, which have made more frequent report checking necessary.
In fact I can click to see my FICO score (one company only) any time, on my bank’s website, with no ill effect.
And lenders no longer advise closing unused lines of credit….
which used to lower your score and now enhance it.
It’s hard to keep up!

With interest, you now owe about $5000. And remember that library book you borrowed and returned late……

I was advised to never get a credit card. So I haven’t.
