My wife likes to talk — a lot. She talks so much that if she stays quiet for 15 minutes, I could have her declared dead. (Yes, she knows I say this about her and she even repeats the joke). I don’t mind. It’s part of her personality.

What I do mind is when she says “You never listen to anything I say.” My responses is “Dear, I do listen to everything you say, I just can’t absorb everything you say.”
This is us, in reverse. Hubby is deaf as a post; he says I am too soft-spoken. “Get my attention before you tell me something.” At this point, we have three choices, ASL lessons, a hearing aid, or a lawyer.
