It’s one way to stick to your diet. Watching all the gluttons fill their fat faces, would put me off food for weeks.
There’s one of those U.S. reality shows, about morbidly obese people battling their weight problems. It’s rebroadcast down here, in Spanish. I can’t bear to watch it but my my wife does. Today’s cartoon reminds me of her “binge watching”.
Interesting thought…how come most of those places are now called “All-You-Can-Eat”,or even “All-You-Care-To-Eat”, as opposed to “Endless Buffet”, or “Smorgasbord”? Did those cutesy catch-phrase names go out of style?
Some years ago I met my daughter at the golden one for dinner and found the food pretty tasty. After a little while she asked me if I had ever been there before “No, first time.” to which she answered “You know I’m never coming back.”. “Yea…me neither”. It seems our being skinny made us the object of interest and maybe ridicule by all the 300 pounders surrounding us. On our way out I counted five motorized chairs for those too fat to walk. The shame is I did enjoy the selection and quality of the food.

I don’t quite think they are 100% clear on the concept…

Binge drinking is more fun to watch.

Maybe they’re waiting for Mr. Creosote to show up. If you never saw “Monty Python’s Meaning of Life”, just Google ‘Mr Creosote’ & watch!

Just seeing one of those “all-you-can-eat” places makes me sick.

The fact that there is such a thing as “binge-watching” is pretty sad.

It’s worth the price of admission.

Years ago, they (restaurant owners) tried to class it up by changing it to “All you care to eat”. Pretty much the same thing.

Good old American gluttony is one of the driving forces of capitalism.

Not always, but usually if you see a regular restaurant suddenly go buffet, it’s an indication that as a business the end is near.
