What is Dotty? A beaver (those teeth)? Whatever, she’s going to get those teeth into this cause. I like the look of the other reporter with the sunglasses, kinda looks like Elvis.
I’m going to side with Dottie in principle: if you want an absolutely impartial observer, then hire a #@!! robot. On the other paw, a caring sentient being has to, at some point, become part of the story, speaking for those who have no voice. Foxworthy should have slid her over to the editorial page; but now that she’s out the door, where will she go?
Dott’s is SO far inside her own head right now. I think Aaron is about to open up that bus station locker inside of Dottie and show us all her baggage…
Is THAT why she’s been so horrible to anyone who have been bullied by wolves? I mean, I’m sure Aaron will reveal that there’s a third or fourth party causing the trouble when it comes to wolves and pigs in the first place, but frikkin’ christ Dottie.
Perhaps Jacob Jackrabbit will find out about Dottie leaving and try to arrange a meeting with her. I wouldn’t be surprised if he tries to hire her as a mole.
Who is she calling a racist? How many wolves have been getting threatening phone calls? How many wolves have gone missing? I have yet to see a pig pick a fight with a wolf.
The pigs are the victims, and she’s supporting the bullies. We’ll see how long it takes for her to come to her senses and think about how she’s been carrying on…
They are still thinking like they are the animal they look like. That wolves are predators and have been preying on these that resemble their animal counterparts. (If any remain.)
Impartiality would aid one in figuring out what may be going on.
One of the stresses on mutant society has got to be the sudden reorientation of racial culture and identity. Except for the “immunes”, no one was their original race any more, and everyone was the same race as someone who would have been racist against them. Blacks and whites and yellows and reds and browns have been united into wolves or pigs or cats or lemmings, and there are now schisms between former friends and family. The stereotypes have changed, and instead of trying to disassociate from racial stereotypes, people are now adopting the species stereotypes they “learned” from popular media and cartoons. People are acting the way they think they should, not the way their new species actually did. For example, Holly and her assumption that she should love cheese when mice don’t really like it. While people like Jackrabbit are embracing their animal stereotypes, some like Cooper are resisting the “dehumanization” of people and trying to get them back to thinking of themselves as human and above animals. Meanwhile, everyone is really just confused about who they really are and lashing out against those who they think threaten their identities and sense of belonging. Everything they thought they were was erased while they slept, and they’re clinging to everything they think they are for fear that will be taken from them, too. They feel betrayed but they don’t know by who, and those who aren’t like them any more are the closest thing they have to lash out against.
Foxworthy’s motives may be questionable at best but where Dottie’s concerned he’s absolutely right. Dottie’s gone from advocate for the truth to self-rightious bigot, her personal attacks on pretty much everyone who disagrees with her a classic sign of transference.
How far into the DNA does the mutagen go? If deep enough, the wolves would have a hard time living on beans, with the odd egg tossed in (mature wolves are lactose intolerant so milk is out of the question). Their digestive tracts are set up for major protein absorption with little enough fiber. They can survive on beans for a while, but a wolf is a wolf, if the mutagen does down that far.
We know the mutants can “zug-zug”, but can they actually reproduce? Are there any baby rabbits or beavers, or even cross breeds? And can the mutants indeed cross breed? Can a rabbit and a cow give birth to a wolf, or to a cow with enormous ears and huge buck teeth? Imagine a cow with the jumping ability of a giant rabbit, or a carnivorous giraffe, plucking hatchlings out of nests ten feet off the ground. It would be as if Tex Avery’s carton “The Farm of Tomorrow” was real. Cross a goat with an owl and get a hootenanny?
OBTW, Where in HECK do they get the tobacco for the ciggies many smoke?
I suspect the giraffe who is spying has influenced a lot of people, may be rewording here and there. Even though Dottie is a mouthy little gal, it doesn’t seem that Dottie is all that extreme but the fake news of the Food Shortage is affecting people’s opinion on things, maybe wolves especially. Fox worthy sometimes looks more wolflike and sometimes looks more foxlike. At the heart of the matter is the food shortage, IMO.

Is someone racing wolves against the pigs? Did I miss something?

That’s Dottie’s problem. She’s an advocate who’s been working as a reporter. Mutually exclusive professions I’d say, or at least thy should be…. ;-)

Art imitates life. Dottie’s projecting her own racism onto anyone who disagrees with her. She’s probably got an interview with CNN.

Zeal without tolerance is fanaticism. Dottie has lost her zeal to get her stories right in her fanaticism to advocate her views.

If you take sides your views take sides. You’re no longer objective but subjective.

Room for another newspaper in Endtown? Can Dottie get access to a mimeograph machine?

Bigot, quite possibly. Racist? Not really. Not unless there have been laws and other institutions reinforcing personal prejudices against wolves.
