Oye Not too bad an idea TEMPLO S.U.D. except then poor Flo would have to clean it up. How about just a few drips from the tea on his back? That’ll drive him crackers, may even get him off the couch?
I assumed a custard cream was a doughnut, but I looked it up and seems to be the Brit version of an Oreo, two cookies with a cream filling between them. My confusion probably stemmed from the fact that there is an excellent chain of doughnut shops here in the Colonies called Krispy Kreme. If you ever have a warm, melt in your mouth Krispy Kreme doughnut, you’ll never settle for anything less ever again.
The storm seems to have moved east into Louisiana, and the rain has slacked off in East Texas. Hopefully, it will die a quick and gentle death there.
Now we start the massive job of dealing with the aftermath of the storm. I worked for the Small Business Administration in Charleston, SC after hurricane Hugo back in 1989, and my job was to meet with home and business owners at their damaged property and document the damage so they could receive low interest loans from the SBA. It was extremely emotional to stand with a home owner who had had his house and possessions submerged in 5 feet of water.
There were some funny moments. I was meeting with a homeowner on the Isle of Palms, and a car pulled into his driveway. A guy got out and told the homeowner that he had something that belonged to him. He opened his trunk and pulled out the mailbox for the home that he retrieved from his front yard. He lived 23 miles inland.

Regarding tea, I’ve found Irish Breakfast tea to be quite strong stuff. (Still palatable, though.) It’s sort of the tea equivalent of espresso.

No Brit would dunk a custard cream, or any other kind of cream-filled biscuit. Thats what simple biccies like rich tea or digestives are for.
