WOW – I can’t believe that was from 57 years ago!!! Seems like only last year.
I had a friend in grade school run after a fly. He turned around just in time to hit a light pole in center field. It knocked out his front teeth. That was the last ball game I participated in.
Mike Grady, third baseman for the 1899 New York Giants, actually made four errors in one play. I believe that’s still the record.
