I like the chimp lamp W-A-Y more than the shiplap.

Shiplap, chimp lamp. They sound very much alike to the hearing impaired.

A local radio station had a boat they used for marine reports that had a hull like that. The plank style was called lap-straking, not shiplap.

Now, is the room going to actual be drawn every day with that shmidtlap on the walls?
