I watch very little NFL now and it has nothing to do with this ongoing kerfuffle about players kneeling for the Anthem. It’s the on field product that’s the issue. That, and how long it takes to play a 60 minute (plus 15 minute halftime) that’s been the biggest bugaboo for me. Three hours+ to play a sixty minute game? Those on both sides of this ongoing situation are in no position to ever claim the high moral ground.
Thought experiment: The players who protest are NOT disrespecting the flag, the anthem, or the country. I can see where some people might take it that way, but the players themselves are protesting in favor of liberty and justice for ALL, just like the Pledge says. Now, people who boo protesting players are NOT opposed to liberty and justice for all, but I can see where some people might take it that way. Discuss among yourselves while we wait for Tank and Buck to fight over Leslie.

If there’s one issue there needs to be a national dialog about, it’s how to get rid of “God Bless America” during the Seventh Inning Stretch.
