I love these, and this was the best one yet. The anticipation is the best part. You can see all the clues coming, but no idea where it’s headed— like trying to figure out who did it in a murder mystery. And of course as always, truly excellent drawings.
Wait, why does Rat confront Stephan AFTER the strip? Doesn’t he read a script or something BEFORE?! If so, he shouldn’t be surprised or upset. Stephan really needs to fix all that.
Here’s a seasonal one: “Rudolf the red-nosed reindeer” becomes “Rudolf the red knows rain dear”….you can probably write the lead up yourself. Full disclosure → I did not create this pun, may have been Stephan himself. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, peace and goodwill to all.
Don’t care for his puns but they are a barometer of society. When I see comments that indicate the young people don’t understand them then I know the tipping point is near, and the educators have reached their goal. four legs good two legs better.

Lincoln then went on to promote punumission, alas to no avail. We are still held in thrall by our pun masters.

I heard that singer Huey Lewis bought a tract of land for the protection of wildebeests. The headline read “Huey Lewis and the Gnus”.

The most stupid ones have an elaborate buildup, it takes a long time to make a dumb pun, the simpler ones are more intelligent.
