That’s the only way out for the guys he’s after. The Dotard family in particular, seems to really have no idea how this is going to go. Do they think that their deplorable followers will help them? Can you just see that bunch trying to hide out in Alabama somewhere? The complaining about the accommodations alone would tip off anyone looking for them.
Oh, Trump has already committed impeachable offenses. It just that the GOP is aiding and abetting him.
Trump has threatened others with the FBI & IRS, which was the first article in Nixon’s (unused) impeachment.
Trump withholding ACA payments is a violation of his oath that the president “shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.”
And of course, Trump’s continued violation of the Emoluments clause. Giving his business to his children to run with a revocable trust, means only that Trump is not involved (as much) with the day to day operations.
If he didn’t have a GOP acting as accessories after the fact, Trump would already be impeached. No need to wait on Mueller.
Of course, this pattern of activity opens up the GOP leadership to RICO charges.
I still disagree with the false equivalency theory. Both sides may do some things (kissing up to the rich, mainly), but they are not in any way the same, as evidenced by Donny Dumpsterfire and his cadre of criminals.

Republicans don’t care that the Russians attacked our electoral system, they won.

Well, it’s either that or taxes. Either one is a trial, just that one is more permanent.

It is humourous to observe each side blaming “The Other Side” for doing the same things they did and continue to do. I fear for the Republic.
