I’d be surprised to see Costco have herbal tea in bulk.

I hate going into a regular grocery store and finding that I have to buy 6 of anything to not get ripped off on the price. Example: Regular price $5.99. If you buy 6, the price drops to $4.79

It still can be useful with the boomerang kids around.

That’s only two and a half years worth, plus a handful of spares for filtering shellac and other garage tasks.

When I worked in the bank a woman who looked as if she’d “expire” any minute opened a Christmas Club account. Optimism!

Making a purchase in late summer, my mother mentioned that it was to be a Christmas present; and the sales clerk said, “Are you sure you’ll still be alive in December?”

tomorrow isn’t promised to any of us, no matter what our age.

My cutoff is a year’s supply or one, whichever is smaller. I’m 15 years into a jar of cream of tartar.

I have a similar experience shopping for LED light bulbs that are supposed to last for at least 13 years. They’re much cheaper to buy in quantities instead of one at a time. Maybe I can donate the extras to the Habitat for Humanity Restore.

I’ve gotten into the practice of buying some things in bulk, then giving away the extras (family, food pantry, etc.).

Some people shouldn’t be buying green bananas.

Buying in bulk and buying long-lasting light bulbs! I was replacing my Mother-in-law’s lights with new LED ones and commented that they were supposed to last for 15 years. She, at age 96, looked at me and said she didn’t really think it mattered.

I had an elderly teacher in college who was probably in her late 70’s when she retired. She planted a sapling in her yard. One of her neighbors commented on her planting a tree at her age, and would she live long enough to see it fully grown! For Pete’s sake, I thought when I heard this, it’s one tree, not a forest. She was more tactful than I would have been. She explained that her family was known for longevity, and that “elderly” or not, she wanted the tree and would enjoy watching it grow. The last time I saw her the tree was flourishing (still young, but doing great). She finally passed on at about age 91 or 92, so she enjoyed it for at 10 or more years, at least.
