We had a dog who really loved a certain stuffed chair. We finally put it in the basement after buying a new one. The dog would be in the basement at night sleeping in that chair as well as some naps during the day. When the dog died, the chair went into the trash.
Hell, my dad was like that. If one of us was sitting in a chair he wanted, he simply dropped us out of the chair. He thought it was funny; I guess we did too.

I would either try to sit and the animal would move or gently pick them up and set them on my lap.
