You’ve got a good point there, Nelson. Heck, I don’t even remember any bedtime stories my grandfather back in Arizona (bless his soul ten years ago) gave me when as a child.
One grandfather dead 6 years before I was born, and the other dead the year after I was born. Count your blessings Nelson, and ask him questions that will make him wish he hadn’t told you that.
Start the day with about a pint of vodka instead of breakfast. It will make the fooling around with things like colons and prostates a lot more bearable.
My grandfather didn’t tell me stories, but he did teach me a lot songs. I was probably the only girl in fifth grade who knew all the verses to “Heaven Will Protect the Working Girl”.
My gramp taught me about baseball, especially listening to the radio on warm summer afternoons on the porch. Of course that was back in the day when baseball was faster paced and exciting, not slow enough to induce a coma.
O Dani….my grandpa taught us songs as well while sitting on his lap. Waaaaay back in the late 50s. Our favorite was “Froggy Went Acourtin”. I think Nelson is extremely lucky to have a loving Grandpa who spends time with him, period.
