Tsk Elvis, lose the sour puss face (panel 3) Tommy’s just trying to be helpful
My two have finally crashed, hopefully for the night. It’s been non-stop hyperactivity this evening, like kids on too much sugar. The tree’s up (not a Las Vegas fir though) and I started wrapping presents so they’ve had lots to supervise and"assist" with. They’re not normally this hyper with Christmas stuff, I wonder if the super moon has an effect on animals?
Nice of Tommy to offer his nose to be sniffed. Not sure Elvis’ nose is working at the moment since he’s freezing—reporters have to go where the story is even if it’s below zero! I just love Tommy in panel 2. Suddenly he reminds me of the Ghost of Christmas Present.
A chilly Tuesday salute to Georgia’s world! Of course that includes YOU and your special sphere! We’re all little orbs of family, friends & felines (and other little buddies!), happily tucked inside the BCN Mega Orb. Wishing you fun, laughter and light hearts! 20 days ’til Christmas! >^..^< :-))))))
And special thoughts go out to all who have endured sadness and concerns. You’re always with companionship and warm wishes within the BCN Mega Orb! (-: :-)
Ol’ Elvis, on the other hand, grump-puss that he is, would be the crazy person who lives with 92 cats if HE were human! (meant affectionately, of course!)
I had a Mane Coon once. I didn’t find him; he found me. By the time he found me, he was so emaciated that you could feel every bone in his body. He was losing fur. The vet estimated he was 8 years old. She said if I hadn’t started feeding him, he would have been dead of starvation in a very short time. Eventually, he got up to 20 pounds, but his fur was never as fluffy as one would expect from a Maine Coon. Near starvation also left him with a limp because his body used up all the fat and was consuming muscle.
He had extra long “fangs” that were visible even when his mouth was closed, so I named him Snagglepuss after a favorite character on “Top Cat.” (I keep telling you all I’m ancient.)
I tried to find a good home for him, but though he was friendly to all, he would stay close by my side. He allowed himself to be cuddled and petted by the visitors, when they set him down, he came running back to me and wrap himself around my legs. He had chosen me as his person. (Everybody who came to meet him ended up adopting shelter cats.)
Normally I don’t allow my cats outdoors, but it was obvious he had always been an outdoor cat. To accommodate his need for freedom. we went for “supervised” walks together around my huge back yard. No need for a leash. He must have had a close encounter with a car because he never went towards the road. He walked a little ahead of me but kept looking back to make sure I was still there. Then, when he was tired of exploring, he would hop on my glider and wait for me to sit down. He was too big to sit in my lap but would scoot up close and rest his chest and paws on my lap waiting to be petted. When he’d had enough outdoors, he’d hop down and head for the front door!
All of the BCN reporters remind me of the special cats who have shared my life over the years, but Tommy and Elvis most of all.

Elvis – ready to accept Tommy’s help but still not to the “sniffing noses” stage. Now Puck would be all over doing that.

Does anyone read Tavicat? Pippi is lost outside too! Sadly it is not updated every day. Hope Fargo guides him home to safety!

I’m loving Elvis’ expression in the last panel, slightly aghast at the prospect of sniffing Tommy’s nose.

I like the grumpy face in panel 3. He puts the sour in sourpuss.

Elvis doesn’t do ‘friends’. He does ‘enemies he tolerates’.

I remember when this storyline came out. The strip was twice a week and longer but the waiting was heck. Georgia never disappoints.

As someone neurodivergent who gets sensory overload and is wary of physical contact until I know someone well, I am suddenly relating to Elvis.
