What’s all this Hoo-Rah about a tree? Just get a fake one; sets up in minutes, comes pre-decorated. If you absolutely MUST have the scent, just get one of those christmas-tree-shaped air fresheners from any reputable auto parts store.Hint: do NOT get the Virgen de Guadelupe freshener-the scent from one of those super-powerful babies will drive everyone from the house (not necessarily a bad thing, considering some of your annoying relatives).

We also have a fake tree. It didn’t come pre-lit or anything, but it certainly isn’t worth going out for a new one.

I never did like watching a dead tree slowly decompose to celebrate Christmas.

I got my “fake” tree from Walgreens. They had a really good sale, so I headed over to get one. When I got there they said the only one they had left was the one on display completely decorated including lights. I said that would be okay (thinking I’d only get the tree) and a clerk took it in back to put it in it’s original box. When I got home I found he had just put the tree in the box, decorations, lights and all.

    Best deal ever.

I live in the wine country in northern California and I have never heard of someone being allergic to fir trees. Clayton is not a little boy, how come all of a sudden he’s allergic? Geez, allergic to trees, peanut, gluten, where is all of this coming from? Oh, let me guess…climate change.

I bought my first artificial tree in 1972. Now on my third — that’s 45 years without killing a living thing for a Christmas decoration.
