Transcript:
Sign reads: ZOO HOURS 9-5.
Sluggo: Dat's something I never could figger out.
Nancy: What?
Sluggo: Why those boids' NAMES never fit their size.
Large Sign reads: Silver-topped Gallipagootus (Hylocichla mustelina)
Tiny sign reads: EMU
Alt Script: 1- SLUGGO: Zoos make me sad. NANCY: Why? 2- SLUGGO: Well look at those poor birds in those tiny enclosures… 3- SLUGGO: They make me feel like I’m just a bird in a gilded cage. The fancy trappings of my life provide me with no real freedom. NANCY: They make me want fried chicken for dinner.
What I don’t understand is why Ernie didn’t use a real bird with a real funny sounding name, like a chestnut-backed chickadee, instead of making one up.

The emu is Dromaius Novaehollandiae or “fast-footed New Hollander” (New Holland was the original European term for Australia.)
Oh, and a Hylocichla Mustelina is a Wood Thrush.

The closest you can get to a dinosaur on 2-legs are birds; such as emus, cassowary and ostrich.
