Went to Capri. Went on a boat trip around the island. Overall it was too much simply an expensive shopping location – something neither of us have any great interest in – but the trip was still worth doing. We didn’t “do” the Blue Grotto – it’s a low cave at water-level, and basically you lie down in a row-boat while you’re pulled through, so it’s enterable only when the sea is calm, and it was choppy that day – but by all reports, it’s expensive to see and you DON’T get to stay very long in it. But, not having actually seen it, I can’t comment on whether the short visit is worth the coin.
What WAS amazing, mind, were the colours in the sea around Capri – the Med is often crystal clear and very blue – but around Capri the water was often positively vibrant (minerals in the rocks, I guess). Stunning.
We also took the short chair-lift ride to the top. The ride itself was pleasant and scenic, and the views from the top worth the trip.
My family once went to a place also called “The Blue Grotto” in the USA. I don’t remember what state it was, but it wasn’t the one in Florida. I expect there are several places with that same name around the world.

Great scenery. I only wish we could hear more of what they’re eating.

When they name something a Grotto in Italy, they really mean it!

Just tell him it’s a man cave. He’ll love it.

Make sure you avoid the Brown Grotto.
