Can they wether the storm and make lambfall? It’s a woolly situation, so ewe’ll just have to wait and see. Things are looking pretty baa’d. Oh no! Thar sheep blows!
That’s what you get for watching “The Last Unicorn” just before going to bed! At least King Haggard’s castle—or the Red Bull—didn’t fall on Horace… :-)
Legend (and possibly history; I recall reading the account many years ago in Carl Sagan’s book called “Billions and Billions,” which was about the powers of exponents) has it that a rather similar thing occurred in connection with the invention of Chess. The king—of Persia, if memory serves—was so impressed with the new game that he asked its inventor to name his desired reward, and:
Being a humble man, but also having a healthy sense of humor, he asked for one grain of wheat to be placed on the first square of the chessboard, with the number being doubled (first 1, then 2, then 4, then 8, and so on) on each subsequent square. The king readily agreed, not realizing that the final quantity would far exceed to total amount of wheat grown in the entire country! :-)

Little Bo Peep must’ve been pretty careless.

Now imagine if, instead of 3 dots, the numbers were followed by an exclamation mark.

I found that counting down from 200 to 0 worked quite well for me. 98% of the time, I’d not make it to zero.

Don’t worry, Horace — I’m sure you won’t be the one to clean up all that sheep poop.

This is what people feared 20 years ago when a sheep was cloned.

The first mistake was to keep increasing the number of sheep at each count. Just go back to counting one at a time, and bore yourself to sleep…

Is no one going to talk about Shaun the Sheep’s portrait just chilling on the wall by the doorway?
