These are reruns, so they may be before Dean was introduced.
Also, I’d rather see Heart and Dean make a cameo in Lio than Lio do a cameo in Heart; this strip needs the exposure more. However, while it would be easy to have Lio remain silent if he showed up here, it’d be hard to work Heart into a pantomime strip. She tends to be wordy…
The first one would look a lot better without the bloomers!
As for the last one, I would never buy that for my daughter (should I ever have one) because it is much too “old” of a look for such a young girl.
The “too poofy” one reminds me of an assembly we had in High School regarding the Shakespearean Festival. They had a costume that had puffed sleeves, like Heart’s, and explained that the actresses that wear that costume pretty much keep their hands on their hips because the poofs are too large. Their arms just poke out in a “dorky” fashion (thanks, Heart, for that adjective!) if they try to just relax their arms.

Reminds me of a children’s book about hats. The title fails me…

Googled it. It’s Old Hat, New Hat by Stan and Jan Berenstain. :)

Did you know in the comic strips of 1998, the characters of Heart of the City had dot eyes?
