Elvis’ face in the last panel is priceless. Caught between being the Siamese who cannot be pleased and an Elvis who is very grateful to Tommy for leading him home. But friends! Aaaargh!
SOOO Happy for Tommy! I can now proceed with the rest of my Saturday! Greetings to Georgia & Family and all my new Orb Buddies; and best wishes for a Merry Christmas.
. . . This is such a sweet Christmas cat story! I’m glad that Tommy is going home! Elvis is SUCH a good boy! So, is Tommy! Merry Christmas, “BCN friends”!
Hurrah, it’s back on the website. I felt so selfish being able to see this one (and others but especially BCN) in my email. Now everyone is a good boy…so break out the ham!
Oh, he’s going home! His nightmare (or as Tommy sees it, adventure) is over. Tonight he will sleep in the bed with his woman, warm and cozy, out of the snow. The food dish in his tummy will never be empty, again. Maybe he’ll even have ham. There are Christmas lights at his house and his woman has the best gift of the year, her little boy is home.
Happy and blessed Saturday dear orb buddies! G’mornin’, aMaizing! Hello Brien43! Warm bumps, LadyBri & hubby! Howdy-do & hugs to all! New orbsters and long-time friends! Love & peace to you! Hope you all get a special moment today that warms your heart forever (BCN already being included in that!)! ^.,.^<
…that hug in the first panel reminds me of my late great Genghis :)…he was a daytime outdoor cat (neutered) who disappeared one day…I wandered the neighborhood calling for hours, no Genghis. Next day I went to the local humane society to see if he’d been brought in. They took me through 4 rooms of cats in cages piled nearly to the ceiling, no Genghis. The clerk said, well let’s check the ‘sick and stressed cats’ room. More piles of cages, no Genghis. Then I noticed one cage completely covered by a blanket. I said “what’s in there?” And the clerk said, “oh. That cat, he’s psycho, we had to cover the cage, he was going crazy.” She carefully lifted the front of the blanket and…“GENGHIS!!!”I paid his bail, and nobody else would go near him when I opened the cage door – he latched himself around my neck, and did not let go the entire ride home…(There was a funny part – the clerk at the front desk, when told ‘it was THAT CRAZY cat’ never even looked up – just said “I knew someone would be coming for him”… :)…
Is it true our cats don’t know our names? Or at least think of us as mom or dad? I always assumed the woman/man thing in the newscast was to protect their identities, because, you know, they’re always doing weird things.
While it is certainly better than when people call their pets for their kids, I can´t help but read out “woman” in an overly stereotyped voice (ala Eddie Murphy in some of his sketches) at times. :D
Such a wonderful strip today and so full of the little details that, as usual, make it extra-special: “Knead, knead, knead” in the second panel, the woman’s perplexed look in the third, and Elvis’ tail twitch in the last panel.
Yay!!! It’s back!!!! I love this part! It’s like Elvis has saved Christmas by reuniting Tommy and his Woman. (wiping a tear) Good morning/evening my fellow Mega Orbsters! I hope you are all having a splendid Caturday.
After waiting weeks for this moment, I must wonder . . .
Why can I only like this once? There should be a way to boost the likes on this page, at least for this day. Yes, I know such a feature would be abused by trolls and even well meaning readers, but still.
Good morning everyone. I have added some new kitty pictures to my fur babies album.
Two pictures of Sooti when she was a kitten. One with Pingpong:

…and one with Tika:

Two new pictures of Pingpong:
https://imgur.com/U9p5IdK
and
https://imgur.com/VuaBWwh
…and one of Sunny:
https://imgur.com/VEYRRLI
Sooti was able to get up on my chair, so I moved it by my bed:
https://imgur.com/GoYwuH9
Tika came to see how Sooti was doing:
https://imgur.com/XhpUESM
Then Sunny decided that he wanted to play, but Sooti is still sore from her surgery, so she told him, “no.” Still, I was able to get a picture with three of my cats at once:
https://imgur.com/Yc2lyrK
From the chair, Sooti can get onto my bed. I felt her settle down on top of me last night after I went to bed.
When I as in my early teens, we went to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. We also visited the Minnesota and South Dakota relatives. We were gone for 3 weeks. We boarded the dogs and cats at a very nice kennel. Dad brought the dogs home first. This was in the days when they didn’t make dog carriers so they were all loose in the car. The minute he opened the door, all 4 dogs came bounding out. Wooffie was running circles in the yard. Bobo and Bootsie were tuggging at my dads pants legs competing for his attention. Mitzie, the eldest, saw me first and made a flying leap. I caught her in my arms and she was licking my face when she caught sight of my mom. She somehow climbed up to my shoulder and took another flying leap into my mom’s arms. This is not a tiny dog we’re talking about. She weighed at least 25 pounds.
The Siamese cats came home in the second trip. My dad had made makeshift carriers for them by tying clothes baskets together. As soon as we got them inside, they ran and hid under the bed for hours. They wanted to make sure we understood they were not pleased to have been abandoned for 3 weeks, and then to have suffered the indignity of not being the first to come home!
Nothing beats the sheer joy of Tommy reuniting with his Woman, those darn ninjas are back again. Poor Elvis, I can sympathise as I don’t like being hugged either – well except by my cats – but Tommy means well.
For anyone traveling to be with friends and family over the next few days be careful and arrive safe
I am seriously annoyed with GoComics today. They’ve gone ad-crazy and are using almost 1/4 of my screen with ‘sign up for premium’ ad. This royally peeves me because I ALREADY AM A PREMIUM subscriber!!!!! SNARL.(rant over)
Yes, yes. All very touching, I’m sure. Elvis has done the right thing because he’s Elvis. Tommy is back with his woman, and that’s good. But can we draw a line under this sloppy American sentimentality and get back to hard news reporting? I feel as though I’m drowning in mush.
Oh Georgia! I so hope your home is filled with special secrets, happy giggles, aromas of cookies & cocoa, and HAM! I visualize your children & the boys, gazing at the magical tree, listening to music & squirming with anticipation! I see your personal orb shining brighter than all the Christmas lights!
Shalom, dear Orb Leader! A blessed night to you and all the BCN Mega Orb! <B >^.,.^<
A long time ago we had a cat named Myshkin, a very laid back orange tabby. One day we found him with a bad bite at the base of his tail, most likely from a raccoon. He spent two weeks at the animal hospital where they remarkably saved his tail. When we brought him home we carried him in and placed him at the top of the stairs. He sat there and looked around and then let out the most amazingly long drawn out wail lasting maybe 6 or 7 seconds. He then got up and trotted down the hall to his favorite window. We could only assume it was a wail of happiness to be home rather than anguish. He was such a wonderful cat.
